Driver injured in Ogle County crash

OGLE COUNTY – A Leaf River man was injured Friday in a single-vehicle crash at Route 64 and Ridge Road.

Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 5:30 p.m. Tyler Bunting, 27, of Leaf River, was eastbound on Route 64 with a passenger, Matthew Thomas, when he attempted to turn south onto Ridge Road and lost control of his vehicle. It entered the east ditch before coming to rest in a bean field.

Bunting was taken to KSB Hospital in Dixon. His condition was unavailable Sunday.

He was cited for driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and leaving the scene of an accident, and given an ordinance violation for possession of marijuana. He was given an individual bond and a notice to appear in court.

The Sheriff’s office did not provide any further information on Thomas, or say whether he was injured.
