In Print Professional Writers Organization winner

Author Kathleen Weber (right), won first place for best submission in the In Print Professional Writers Organization, Word Of Art 3 collaborative writing and art contest with her story, “Nothing But Time.” The contest was in March at Burpee Museum of Natural History in Rockford. Karla Belzer (left), University of Illinois Extension educator, Family Life, Whiteside, Carroll, and Lee counties, holds a Word of Art 3 book in which Weber’s story appears alongside artist Terry Werntz’s interpretation of the story. Weber holds the engraved spy glass she received as winning author. The story was an excerpt from a memoir written in the fall 2015 Share Your Lifestory Workshop, in which Weber participated and Belzer facilitated. Weber’s poem, “Zod,” also was chosen and published in the book. Photo submitted by Weber.
