Franklin Grove inn joins national registry

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Select Registry, a collection of independent, boutique properties, has welcomed Lincoln Way Inn of Franklin Grove as one of its newest members.

The inn, located in a recently-restored historic building, is a few miles from Franklin Creek State Park and the Nature Conservancy’s Nachusa Grasslands.

The house was renovated and reopened in June 2015 by Stone Heritage Properties and co-owners John and Lisa Ayre.

The property was built in 1912, by Columbus D. “C.D.” Hussey.

His parents were among some of the first families to settle in 1838 in Franklin Grove, after arriving in a covered wagon from Pennsylvania.

The inn offers five themed guest rooms as well as a spa, Finlandia cedarwood sauna, four-season dining porch, outdoor patio gardens with fireplace, a library, and bike rentals.
