Demetrius Lahman, 18, of Franklin Grove, is Ashton Franklin Center High School’s March Student of the Month. His parents are Jodie Lahman, 47, and Jim Lahman, 51 and his brothers are Josh, 29, of Palatine, Justin, 28, and Jorden, 26, both of Amboy.
Favorite class? Biology, it is fun and laid back.
Least-favorite class? Consumers, there was a lot of homework.
Favorite teacher? Jodie Lahman, teacher’s aide. She helps me in school and life.

How would you describe your group of friends? They love to have fun and joke around.
What is something you learned in high school that you think you will never use? The Pythagorean theorem

What’s the one thing in your life you can’t do without? My mom and dad.
What is your advice for surviving high school? Be kind and don’t always think about yourself.
If you could change one thing about your school, what would it be and why? To install air conditioning, because it gets hot.
What scares you? The future. I never know what it holds.
What did you think about the election, presidential candidates? They aren’t as good as Abe Lincoln.
If you could try any job for a day, what would it be? A zoo keeper.
If you could go anywhere in the world for free, where would it be? Disney, because that is where dreams come true.
What is a good book you read recently? “American Sniper” by William Morrow. It tells about the American hero Chris Kyle and how his legacy was built. It was inspiring.
What is your proudest moment? Graduating. I am finally done.
Who is your hero, role model? My brother Josh. He is a great person, and I’ve looked up to him the most through out my life.
What do you think your life will be like 10 years from now? I will be wealthy and have a house and family of my own.
