Music, arts and more at Iron Horse Festival

SAVANNA – The Iron Horse Festival returns this weekend downtown.

The weekend features live music – rock, country and more – throughout the weekend.

“American Rebel” Andy Ross will film an episode of his TV show and shoot a music video at the event.

Other bands include Orchard Fire, Lucky Tubb, Classical Blast, Jerry Wells, Jacob Brice, Stone Cold Moonshine, Alborn Theory, and Daniel Stratman. A weekend wristband is $10, with
$1 going to area charities.

Andrew Meyer, the executive producer of “The Breakfast Club” and “Fried Green Tomatoes,” also will be on hand for screenings, a Q&A and autographs at Savanna Times Theatre, 222 W. Main St. Tickets are $10.

Frank Fritz, costar of History’s “American Pickers” and owner of Frank Fritz Finds in Savanna, will host some of the events.

The Big River Run 5K will kick off at 10 a.m. Sunday on the bands of the Mississippi River.

The $25 entry free includes a T-shirt, with $5 going to local VFWs in need. The winner will receive a Big River Fest prize package.
