It was all work – and a little play – at Sauk Valley Community College Thursday as Jenea Montanez of Rock Falls fired off a paper airplane from her mother's booth at the Careers/Jobs Fair at Sauk Valley Community College. The college hosts the annual event to give people an opportunity to learn about its career programs and degrees, and network with local businesses – and with nearly 50 businesses on hand, there were plenty of chances to do some networking during the 4-hour fair. Guests were encouraged to bring resumes they could drop off at the businesses’ booths. The fair also featured a Public Safety Career Fair portion for people who wanted to explore careers in law enforcement, criminal justice, fire science or EMS.
