Shorts and a game of hoops? It must be spring. Gabriel Celestine goes up for a dunk Monday afternoon while playing basketball with friends at Franklin Elementary School in Sterling during spring break. Temperatures pushed into the mid-60s under partly sunny skies, a great way to greet the first day of spring – and warmer than the norm for the day, which is 48 degrees, but cooler than the record high of 82 back in 2012. The mercury will be moving up and down the rest of the week, cooling into the mid-40s by mid-week, then jumping up to a high of 67 on Friday. Things will cool off again Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures dropping to the low 50s. Some rain will move in Thursday and stick around, on and off, until Monday.
