GRAND DETOUR – Some local history just became even easier to experience.
Admission is now free to The John Deere Historic Site, 8334 S. Clinton St., which has also expanded its hours to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
As of Wednesday, there are no admission fees to the John Deere attractions in Iowa and Illinois. The other attractions are the John Deere Pavilion and Store, 1400 River Drive, and the World Headquarters Display Floor, 1 John Deer Place, both in Moline; and the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum, 500 Westfield Ave., Waterloo, Iowa.
This year, the Grand Detour site will host events such as June Jam on June 25, Green Iron Days from Aug. 4-6, the Grand Detour Arts Festival on Sept. 10, and Fall Festival on Oct. 14.
