DIXON – Robert “Bob” R. Brandenburg, 81, of Dixon, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at Franklin Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin Grove. He worked at Donaldson Co. Inc. in Dixon for several years before his retirement.

Bob was born Aug. 1, 1935, in Princeton, the son of Russell F. and Katherine (Dawson) Brandenburg. He married Phyllis Johnson on Feb. 14, 1987, in Dixon. She preceded him in death on Jan. 21, 2005. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Korean war.

Survivors include two daughters, LeAnn Brandenburg and Lisa Brandenburg; one stepdaughter, Cindy (Steve) Dehart of Dixon; two stepsons, Allen Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Myrl (Peggy) Johnson of Dixon; one sister, Kay (Weldon) Wilkinson of Walnut; 10 stepgrandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, and the funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, with Pastor Jack Briggs officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Grand Detour Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
