MORRISON – Pauline G. Sterenberg, 91, of Morrison, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at Resthave Home in Morrison.
Pauline was born Feb. 18, 1925, in Morrison, the daughter of Earl and Jennie (Vogel) Bonneur. On Feb. 16, 1945, she married Wesley Sterenberg in Morrison. He passed away in 1997.
Pauline farmed along with her husband in the Morrison area for 50 years. In her younger years, she had worked for the Burpee Seed Co. in Clinton, Iowa, Smith Trust and Savings Bank in Morrison, and Whiteside County Farm Bureau. She was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison. Pauline also was a member of Morrison Historical Society and Resthave Auxiliary. In their retirement years, she and her husband made many wonderful memories, visiting family and close friends in their motor home. She loved reading and crafts, especially counted cross-stitch, crocheting, sewing, and porcelain doll making. She made many beautiful keepsakes for her family. She also enjoyed sending out greeting cards and notes. She will be greatly missed by all in her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Eileen (David) Bennett of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Paula (Cal) Venema of Atkinson; one son, Dale (Sue) Sterenberg of Morrison; eight grandchildren, Brad (Jessica) Buikema, Bryan (Amber) Buikema, Brooke Buikema, Brenda (Brian) Holcomb, Ryan (Tosha) Venema, Kelly (Todd) Veltrop, Grant (Erica) Venema, and Emalie Sterenberg; 12 great-grandchildren, Jonah, Isaiah, Thane, Cora and Elsie Venema, Ben and Beckett Holcomb, Spencer Salt, Busby and Beatrix Pauline Buikema, and Shelby and Camryn Veltrop; two nieces, Becki (Dave) Damhoff and Melissa Devorah; and one nephew, Mark (Cara) Sterenberg.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Reformed Church in Morrison, officiated by Rev. Rich Davis. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton.
