ARLINGTON, Wash. – Robert Dale “Bob” Cowley Jr. of Arlington passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016.
He was born May 15, 1928, in Lyndon, to Robert and Mary Cowley.
Bob was a sergeant in the Army Air Forces from 1946 to 1949, serving in the 634th Aircraft Control Squadron as a teletype mechanic and equipment operator. After returning from the service, Bob and Dorothy were married Feb. 10, 1950, in Everett, Washington. They moved to Illinois, where Bob worked on a farm for 12 years. In 1962, they moved back to Washington with their four kids.
Bob worked for Nord Door in Everett, retiring in 1994. Bob loved his wife and family, woodworking, camping, bowling, and pitching horseshoes. His loved ones will greatly miss him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Dorothy (Childs); son, Stan (Jean); and daughters, Sue (Ron) Tait, Debbie Argle, and Merrie (Scott) Wolf. He also is survived by his brothers, Jim and Lee Cowley; sisters, Mary Ann, Vella, Jane, Peggy, and Carol; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bill and John; and a sister, Donna Jean.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 24 at Evergreen Funeral Home in Everett. A luncheon will be after the service in Arlington.
