The Mount Morris Jamboree Committee is proud to announce we’ve received a very generous community arts access grant from the Rockford Area Arts Council in the amount of $1,200, for the third year in a row totaling $3,800.
The RAAC supports, promotes, and develops the arts for everyone in our Northern Illinois region. Learn more about this organization at artsforeveryone.com.
We received notification of our award a month later and were especially surprised and elated with the news, very grateful for their support. This gets us to a grand total of $10,200 awarded over 3 years, from two different grant makers for our free Friday night summer concert series.
This year, individuals and local businesses have generously donated a record amount of money for our program: Spectrum Preferred Meats, Exelon, George and Nancy Poe, Dave and Mary Jane Warkins, Paul Smith, Lambert and Co. Drilling, Maggie’s Idle Hour, Main Street Bistro, Nicholson Electric, Irv’s Autobody, John and Beth Nelson Chase, Cimino’s Pizza, Burkhardt’s LP Gas, Aireloom Music, Dave and Sylvia Saunders, Rob and Karen Urish, Smith and Burkolz PC, Aspiring Health Chiropractors, Marv Miller Construction, Flow Rite Seamless Gutters, Johnson Oil, Mount Morris Union Savings Bank, Harvard State Bank, Herb Olujic, Finch Funeral Home, Mount Morris Country Companies agents Hasen Lott and Dick Montavon, DP Website Maintenance and Moundertown.com.
Mount Morris Moose also gave back some of their earnings from the night they provided concessions. There also were several anonymous donors.
We emphatically and graciously thank all of the above, as well as all the people who give to our free-will donation buckets at the concerts. Thanks to you all, this concert series will continue to grow and provide a high standard of free entertainment to the public.
See you there every Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. from the first in June until the first in August, bands beginning at 7 p.m.
