Janice M. Evans Prentice

MALVERN, Pa. – Janice May Evans Prentice, 56, of Malvern, formerly of Sterling, died Saturday, April 11, 2015, at her home, after a long battle with breast cancer.

Janice was born Jan. 2, 1959, in Sterling, the daughter of Frank (Mary) Evans and Judith (née Cedro) (Herb) Beveroth. She graduated from Polo Community High School, and Illinois College in Jacksonville. She was pursuing a career as a pastry chef at Walnut Hill Restaurant School in Philadelphia, when she became ill. Janice was the owner of Lizard Sun. She enjoyed cooking, the beach, and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Survivors include her parents of Rock Falls; forever fiancé, Richard Petty of Malvern; son, Aaron (fiancée, Jessica Cornnaccio) Prentice, and granddaughters, Paige and Pali Prentice, all of Devon, Pennsylvania; sisters, Jeanne (Bob) Izral of Byron and Lisa (Jack) Krouse of Springfield; brother, Eric Evans of Phoenix; stepbrother, Rick (Hope Rhodes) Roberts, stepsister, Keri (Jeff) Olson, and stepbrother, Tim (Pam) Beveroth, all of Sterling; stepsister, Suzanne Pollack of Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota; and former spouse, Gary Prentice of Sterling.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Gregory Evans; her daughter, Audrey Prentice; and her son, Anthony Prentice.

A memorial celebration of Janice’s life will be from 1 to 4 p.m. May 23 at Edgewood Golf Course in Polo. Cremation rites have been accorded.
