Former Dixon nurse to serve as hospital president

PEORIA – OSF Saint Paul Medical Center, the newest member of the OSF Healthcare System, was welcomed into the ministry April 1.

The blessing and dedication ceremony officiated was performed by Monsignor Paul E. Showalter, vicar general of the Catholic Diocese of Peoria.

The ceremony culminated a year-long transition process for the former Mendota Community Hospital, now the 11th OSF HealthCare hospital.

Jennifer Junis was named the medical center’s new president. She succeeds Judy Christiansen, who served as hospital interim president during the transition. Since 2007, she has served as chief nursing officer for OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee. She started her health care career in 1996, as a registered nurse at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

OSF Saint Paul will be part of the Interstate-80 Region of OSF HealthCare.
