DIXON – Susan Kay Meusel, 54, of Dixon, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at KSB Hospital in Dixon. She was a cook for several years at St. Mary School and at Camp Reynoldswood, both in Dixon.
Susan was born Feb. 22, 1960, in Sterling, the daughter of Donald and Lois (Kirk) Mabrey. She married Jeff Meusel on Aug. 23, 1989, in Clinton, Iowa. She was a member of Missouri Synod Lutheran Church in Sterling. Susan was a devoted mother, and loved her granddaughter dearly.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Meusel, and one son, Jason Gibbons, both of Dixon; one sister, Linda (Carl) Witmer of Cape Coral, Florida; one granddaughter, Ariana Pegues; one aunt, Dorothy Carr, one niece, Jessica Love, and one great-niece, Ashyia Love, all of Sterling; and special friend and caregiver, Tammy Miller of Dixon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one daughter, Brandy Pegues.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., with family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and brief prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, with the Rev. Frank Langholf, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon, officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of cremains will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
