Prep roundup: Buck leads Oregon golf to win

Carson Buck led the Oregon boys golf team in a road win at the par-35 Sandy Hollow course in Rockford on Thursday. Oregon beat Rockford Lutheran 163-180.

Buck earned medalist honors with a 39 to improve the Hawks' record to 3-1.

Mitchell Nehrkorn and Tyler Black each carded 41s, while Taylor Brubaker rounded out the scoring for the Hawks with a 42.

East Dubuque 187, Eastland 192: Karissa Freidag led Eastland with a 46 in a loss at Lake Carroll Golf Course.

Shay Goellner (48), Curt Strauss (48), and Collin Eubanks (50) rounded out the scoring for the Cougars.

Michael Motsch earned medalist honors for East Dubuque with a 44.

Rockford Christian 172, Dixon 190: Dixon sophomore Cole Ruckman was the medalist in a home meet at Timber Creek with a 41.

Jake Bonnell carded a 43 for the Dukes in the loss.

Boys soccer

Herscher 5, Dixon 0:
The Dukes allowed five goals in a loss during their final match of the Earlville Tournament.

Sophomore Nick LeSage was in goal for Dixon (1-2).

Girls golf

Oregon beats Lutheran:
Abi Scheidecker was the medalist after carding a 49 to lead the Hawks (5-0) to the win oner a two-player team from Rockford Lutheran.

Ali Scheidecker shot a 51, while Haley Repass (53) and Abby Martin (58) rounded out the scoring.

Girls tennis

Rockford Guilford 4, Sterling 0:
The Golden Warriors' doubles team of Sidney Lippens and Macee Sullivan won the only set for Sterling in a three-set loss.

Anna Ivarson lost at No. 1 singles, while Meghan Clodfelter lost at No. 2 for Sterling.

The third doubles match was called in the middle of the second game due to rain, with the Warriors duo of Maura Scanlon and Allie Prescott ahead by one game, but down a set.
