Dock diving dogs in Rock Falls

ROCK FALLS – Southtown K9 will host the North American Dock Diving trials Saturday and Sunday at 7829 Buell Road. First splash is at 10 a.m. each day. Admission is free, and spectators are invited to bring a chair. The trials are for only beginner and intermediate dogs of all breeds. Check out Southtown K9 on Facebook for more information.

It's Brick Street Saturday

MOUNT CARROLL – The annual Brick Street Saturday returns this weekend to the downtown. With activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the festival features sidewalk sales, a farmers market (from 8 a.m. to noon), arts and crafts, food, music, a ping pong drop, a duck pluck, bounce houses, and more. Car show for Happy Tails

ROCK FALLS – Happy Tails Animal Shelter, 1408 McNeil Road, will be full of cars, trucks, motorcycles, and tractors for the shelter's first Car and Bike Show. The gate opens for vehicles at 9 a.m. Sunday and closes at 11 a.m., when the show opens to the public. Registration of a vehicle is $25 and includes a T-shirt. Admission is $1 per person, with kids younger than 6 free. There will be a cookout and activities throughout the day. Proceeds will go toward the animal shelter.

Blues, brews and BBQ in Dixon

DIXON – A Blues, Brews and BBQ festival will take over First Street from noon to midnight Saturday in the downtown. There will be music, with Kevin Purcell and the Nightburners closing out the lineup. There also will be barbecue from local vendors, and alcohol will be served. Admission is $5 at the door for the all-ages event. Kids 12 and younger get in free.

Rockin' in Prophetstown

PROPHETSTOWN – Rockin' On the Rock, a benefit concert for area volunteer fire departments and emergency medical staff, will be from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Prophetstown State Park on Riverside Drive. All donations will go to local departments. Six local bands will perform, and there will be food, children's activities, and a bags tournament.
