ROCKFORD (AP) — Two senior living facilities in Rockford will undergo renovations totaling $20 million to modernize and expand.
The Rockford Register Star reports (http://bit.ly/YXauE2 ) retirement community Wesley Willows broke ground on an $18 million addition this summer. The project at its North Rockton Avenue campus will add 36 one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as a fitness classroom and a dining area.
The Villa at P.A. Patterson is finalizing plans for renovations that will add hotel-inspired services and amenities. Construction will expand therapy gyms, upgrade the rooms and add a bistro and a computer lounge.
P.A. Peterson opened in 1941 and now has 134 residents.
The nonprofit Wesley Willows opened in 1966 and has independent, assisted-living and nursing home housing. More than 600 people live on the campus.
