CHICAGO (AP) — Seven health centers in the Chicago area are receiving a total of $1.7 million in funding for construction and renovation projects.
U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois announced the funding Tuesday. The money comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and is available through an Affordable Care Act grant program.
Of the seven health centers, four are in Chicago: Access Community Health Network, Erie Family Health Center, Heartland Health Outreach and Heartland International Health Centers.
Other centers getting grants are Community Nurse Health Association in La Grange, PCC Community Wellness Center in Oak Park and Will County Community Health Center in Joliet.
