Robert F. Dallgas

DIXON – Robert Fred Dallgas, 88, of Dixon, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He was one of the first employees at Willett Hoffman & Associates Inc., as a draftsman, before his retirement.

Robert was born March 27, 1926, in Dixon, the son of Frederick and Ottilia (John) Dallgas. He married Phyllis Portner on May 22, 1954. She preceded him in death on Aug. 27, 1998. Robert was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon.

Survivors include three daughters, Danette (Paul) Dallgas-Frey of Dixon, Kathy (Ried) Knapp of Kankakee, and Roberta Beth Cook of Dixon; five grandchildren, Dionel Dallgas-Frey, Manuel Dallgas-Frey, Aracely Dallgas-Frey, Marcela Vargas, and Jose Dallgas-Frey; and three great-grandchildren, Maliya Reyes, Julissa Vargas, and Breanna Dallgas-Frey.

He also was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Frank Langholf, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.
