Gale E. Ellis

MORRISON – Gale E. Ellis, 94, of Morrison, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at Resthave Home in Morrison. He worked at various area businesses.

Gale was born April 29, 1920, in Jesup, Iowa, the son of Samuel R. and Lucy Armenta (Case) Ellis. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Anna M. Huizenga on Dec. 13, 1945, in Morrison.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Betty (Charles) Townsend of Tularosa, New Mexico, and Judy (Ken) Tiesman of Fulton; one son, Jerry (Betty) Ellis of Fulton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary K. (Roscoe “MO”) Hendrickson of Springfield, and Frieda Hoover of Carbondale; and one son-in-law, Archie Schaefer of Morrison.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Marjorie Schaefer; one grandson; one sister, Geneva Remaley; and one brother, Nevan “Bus” Ellis

Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday and the funeral at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, with Ken Renkes, director of congregational care at Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.
