Residents have chance to meet with alderman

Published: Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 1:15 a.m. CDT

ROCK FALLS – Residents of the Fourth Ward will have an opportunity to express their opinions and concerns to an alderman at a neighborhood meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The informal forum, which is open to citizens outside the ward, will be held at 1407 11th Ave. in Rock Falls. City officials have been invited to answer questions.

Fourth Ward Alderman John Watts said a few neighborhood meetings were held last year. He hopes the more casual setting will open the lines of communication with those who aren’t comfortable in council chambers.

“Everyone has opinions on things, but they need to get it to the right channel,” Watts said. “Some people might be intimidated at a podium on television, so this offers them another way to communicate with officials.”

For more information, call Watts at 815-631-3012.
