Bustos gets nod from Farm Bureau

The Illinois Farm Bureau on Friday endorsed the re-election of U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos, D-East Moline.

Bustos, a member of the House Agriculture Committee, also won the Friend of Agriculture Award for her support of Illinois farmers and producers, according to a news release from the candidate.

Bustos is the only member from the state’s congressional delegation with a 100 percent voting record with the Illinois Farm Bureau, the release said.

Bustos represents the 17th Congressional District, which includes Whiteside and Carroll counties.

Former Rep. Bobby Schilling, R-Colona, is challenging Buston in the Nov. 4 election.
