Depot Days in Amboy
AMBOY – The 36th annual Depot Days festival ends Sunday. The big moment is the 50/50 drawing, at 3 p.m. Sunday at the main stage. Last year’s winner took home $74,503. Other highlights include the car, truck and motorcycle show from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, and the parade at 3 p.m. Saturday, followed by the annual pork chop and chicken barbecue at the fire station, 25 N. A taste of Europe in Dixon
DIXON – The riverfront will turn into an Italian piazza as Dixon Main Street and Riverfront hosts Venetian Night, beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be roaming musicians, artists, street performers, food, beer and wine, and gelato. There also will be a lighted boat parade at sundown, followed by a fireworks display. Admission is free.
A Fourth Friday in Sterling
STERLING – It’s the fourth Friday of the month, which means it’s time to Think Local during Fourth Fridays in the downtown. There will be Lunch in the Courtyard at The Big Red Church, 311 Second Ave., along with artwork, murals, sales, specials, and creative mustache contests. Free festival in Sterling
STERLING – The fourth annual Outdoor Adventure Festival will run from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Sterling-Rock Falls Family YMCA, 2505 YMCA Way. There will be more than 30 family-friendly activities, including learning to fish in the YMCA pool, archery, inflatables, and a climbing wall. There also will be native and zoo animal presentations. Admission, activities, and a meal will be available free of charge.
Farm heritage on display
STERLING – The Farm Heritage Festival of East Jordan Church returns Saturday for its eighth year at the church, 22027 Polo Road. The day will begin with a farm breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. Tickets are $6. Active farm machine demonstrations will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There also will be an activities center, and a farm animal zoo. Admission to the demonstrations and petting zoo is free. A lunch stand will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. inside the church.
