Hawks third at Sandwich

Paced by Carson Buck's 6-over-par 78, the Oregon boys golf team finished third in the 17-team Sandwich Invitational held Tuesday at Edgebrook Golf Course.

The Hawks had a team total of 335, behind just Richmond-Burton (318) and Aurora Central Catholic (324). Rounding out the top five were Aurora Christian and Genoa-Kingston, who tied for fourth at 336.

Buck's round earned him fifth place individually, while teammate Mitchell Nehrkorn tied for sixth with a 79. Matt Meyers was next with 87, while Taylor Brubaker, Tyler Black and Dominic Marchetti each had 91.

The medalist was Richmond-Burton's Jordan Hahn with a 70. Aurora Christian's Brett Seward was runner-up with a 74.

Galena 184, Polo 185: Mack Llanas led the Marcos with a 44 in a narrow home loss to the Pirates.

The medalist was Galena's Kane Hyde with a 40.
