EVANSVILLE, Wis. – Emma Lucille Talbott, 80, of Evansville, Wisconsin, formerly of Dixon, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at Evansville Manor in Evansville. She worked as a licensed practical nurse for 45 years before her retirement in 2011.

Emma was born Feb. 23, 1934, in DuQuoin, the daughter of Wallace E. and Rachel (Oliver) Spencer.

Survivors include two son, Ron (Chris) Talbott of Evansville, and Owen Edward Talbott of Rockford; three grandchildren, Audrey Wood, Jeremy Talbott, and Janelle Talbott; and six great-grandchildren, Blake, Logan, Dylan, Keegan, Cassius, and Autumn.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Harriett Ann; one son, Harvey Stephen; one brother, Norman Spencer; and six sisters, Shirley, Helen, Edith, Ida, Allegra, and Mary.

Lucy was a very giving and caring person, who always put her family and friends first, often doing without herself, to make others happy. She had a zest for life that many were in awe of. She had many friends in both Dixon and Evansville, even though she had lived there only a short while.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon, with the Rev. John Kalebaugh, pastor of The Refuge Church in Amboy, officiating.

A memorial has been established.
