Choose to help people first, then animals

I have been reading, to my consternation, the city of Sterling’s thinking about spending six figures to fix the problem of silt at Thomas Park. I would ask the city to fill it in.

I ready in Thursday’s Gazette [Aug. 14] that someone is considering fully funding the dog park for Thomas Park. If someone has that kind of money, how about spending the money on people in need?

Call Harold Dale, head of Good Neighbor; call up Carol Siefken of the food bank; call up Brian Tribley of Firehouse Ministries. Call me up – I’m struggling to put my granddaughter through nurse’s training.

Please invest your money on people instead of dogs.
