MORRISON – Janie Vogel, 71, of Morrison, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Four Seasons Living Center.

Janie was born April 3, 1943, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of Chester and Julia (Shea) Platt. She married Thomas L. Vogel on Sept. 29, 1962, in Morrison.

She had worked at Climco Coils in Morrison, Vend-Omack Sales, WZZT Radio, and was an Avon representative and beautician.

Surviving are her husband, Tom, of Morrison; two sons, Bryan Vogel and Terry (Dawn) Vogel, both of Morrison; one granddaughter; two brothers, Jim (Judy) Platt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Dick (Vernice) Platt of Geneseo, New York; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Cremation rites have been accorded, and interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.

A memorial fund has been established.
