CLINTON, Iowa – Phyllis M. Edwards, 74, of Clinton, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, at Mercy North Medical Center in Clinton.

Phyllis was born Oct. 5, 1939, in Clinton, the daughter of Woodworth and Ruth (Hohlen) Judd. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1958. She married William Edwards on Dec. 17, 1968, in Chicago. William died in 1994.

She was a homemaker and had worked at the former Mississippi Belle Casino for more than 10 years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed country music, playing cards, and bingo.

Phyllis is survived by her four children, Mark (Leanne) Smith of Clinton, Jackie (Terry) Johnson of Machesney Park, Connie (David) Just of Clinton, and Jared Edwards of Clinton; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronald (Sharon) Judd of Milledgeville, and Robert (Judy) Judd of Clinton; several nephews and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.  

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, followed by the funeral at 1 p.m., Tuesday at Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. After the service, cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be at a later date at Fondulac Township Cemetery in East Peoria.
