My name is Molly Biggs, and I am a fourth-year member of Palmyra Hillbillies 4-H Club.
This year my steer placed second in the Lee County 4-H Fair’s Premiere Carcass Class, allowing me to sell it in the July 25 Quality Meats and Baked Goods Auction.
I would like to thank Randy Faber and Steve Florschuetz, superintendents, for their time and effort weighing these animals in the second Saturday in February (when it was real cold and the snow needed to be plowed), and again the week before the fair.
Thanks to Eddie Morrissey and Dale Leffelman, owners of Country Village Meats, Sublette, for their work and facility.
Thanks to Lenny Bryson for being our auctioneer.
I also want to thank my buyers, Allyn Buhrow, Pioneer Seeds, Ashton; Dave Hill, DeKalb Seeds, Dixon; Nick Vaessen, Vaessen Brothers Chevrolet, Sublette; 1st Farm Credit Services, Bob Foerder, Rock Falls; and Larry Main, Freeport.
Without all of you, this wouldn’t have been possible or nearly as rewarding.
