One hurt Sunday in single-vehicle crash

OGLE COUNTY – A Westmont woman received non-life-threatening injuries Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on state Route 72 at Interstate 39.

Ogle County Sheriff's deputies and Monroe Center fire personnel responded to the scene. An investigation revealed that a Kia driven by Jennifer Montalto-Stojanovski, 37, was southbound on Interstate 39 approaching the eastbound and westbound bridges at Route 72.

Montalto-Stojanovski's vehicle then drove through the center median for about 550 feet and landed on Route 72. Montalto-Stojanovski was taken to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, where she remained in fair condition Monday.

Safety check planned in Ogle County

STERLING – District 1 State Police troopers will conduct a roadside safety check some time in August in Ogle County.

District 1 officials announced the check Monday. Troopers will look for drivers who operate vehicles in an unsafe manner, drive with a suspended or revoked driver's license, transport open alcoholic beverages, or drive under the influence.
