MILLEDGEVILLE – The condition of a man who was injured at the Carroll County Fair Saturday night has improved.

Christopher M. Heisler, 32, of Milledgeville, was hit by a shard of metal while watching the demolition derby from the stands. The metal, believed to be from one of the car’s engines, hit Heisler and was lodged in his chest.

Heisler was first taken to CGH Medical Center in Sterling, but was transferred to Rockford Memorial Hospital. His condition was upgraded from fair to good on Monday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
