Street help, baskets truly appreciated

I, too, would like to thank Street Commissioner Jeff Kuhn for his assistance with a street problem.

First United Methodist Church sponsored a blood drive on July 29. I called Mr. Kuhn at home to inquire whether Peoria Avenue would be open or whether we should cancel the drive. Mr. Kuhn assured me that the street would be open, and I was not to worry.

Sure enough, one hour before the drive began, the barriers were removed from the south side on Peoria so that the truck could drive up to the church and unload at the door.

This was a tremendous help, as it saved a lot of time and effort.

The truck was allowed to be parked there all day, also. So thank you, Mr. Kuhn, for helping with the blood drive that was very successful.

I also would like to thank the Dixon in Bloom Committee for the beautiful hanging baskets. What an asset to the city.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
Not sure
