Grants available for classrooms

Published: Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014 1:15 a.m. CST

AMBOY – Teachers who actively instruct students from preschool through high school in Lee County can apply for grants from the Lee County Farm Bureau Foundation.

The foundation sponsors two grants of up to $100 each, which can be used for lessons, activities, projects, resources, presentations, school fairs, field trips, and other projects that focus on integrating agriculture into a variety of curriculum areas.

Priority will be given to applicants for resources lasting more than one school year, as opposed to funds for field trips, consumables and “one-time” use.

Applications are due Sept. 15. To receive an application, contact the farm bureau at leecfb@comcast.net or 815-857-3531.
