Bernard C. Schwamberger

ARLINGTON – Bernard C. Schwamberger, 92, of Arlington, died at 7:10 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.

He was born in Mankato, Minnesota, to Charles J. and Agnes (Cahill) Schwamberger. He married Doris Welter on Sept. 1, 1951. He farmed his whole life, raising cattle, hogs, corn and soybeans. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Arlington.

He is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Schwamberger of Bloomington; one son, Joseph Schwamberger of Arlington; and three sisters, Rita Graham of Grand Ridge, Vivian Yaklich of LaSalle, and Teresa (Dan) Hunter of LaMoille.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris, on Jan. 17, 2011; one sister, Monica Dwyer; and two brothers, Jerome “Bob” Schwamberger and Leo Schwamberger.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday and the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Arlington, with the Rev. Patrick Fixsen officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Arlington. Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd is handling arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jack Franklin, Steve Sondgeroth, Chad Lindenmier, George Dwyer, Charles Kunkel, and Jack Donna.
