ROCK FALLS – Ruth B. Lauts, 90, formerly of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Parkway Center in Sterling.

Ruth was born June 23, 1924, in Rock Island, the daughter of Jesse and Myrtle (Wainwright) Hanna. She married Edwin M. Lauts on Dec. 28, 1945, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2000. Ruth was a member of Rock Falls United Methodist Church since 1954. She also was a member of the Outaga Camping Club. Ruth was a terrific baker and cook, and a devoted mother, grandma, and great-grandma.

Surviving are her children, Marcella (Lyle) Janssen of Rock Falls, and William (Norma) Lauts and Melinda (John) Licht, both of Sterling; one granddaughter, Laura Duhon; and two great-grandchildren, Madison Duhon and MaKenzie Duhon.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, William Hanna; and one grandson, Andrew Lauts.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday and the funeral at 2 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Rich Fassig officiating. Burial will be at Bethesda Cemetery in Hillsdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Rock Falls United Methodist Church and Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
