Trumpet professor to perform this week at two local concerts

STERLING – Stephen Hawk of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania will perform at two concerts this week.

Hawk will play three solos at the Sterling Municipal Band Concert, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. He also will play three or four solos at the Rock River Jazz Band concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Both performances are free, and will be at Grandon Civic Center on Fourth Street downtown.

Hawk is a professor of music at Slippery Rock, and conducts their symphonic wind ensemble and brass band. Go to hawktrumpet.com for more information.
