Thank you for support of corn boil

Published: Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 1:15 a.m. CST

The Rock Falls Rotary Club would like to express its sincere appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the 75th annual corn boil, which was July 22 at the Rock Falls Community Building.

Thanks are expressed to the many businesses that provided us services, supplies or raffle prizes; to the many people – family members, friends, Boy Scout Troop 305, high school volunteers, and other club Rotarians – who assisted our club members; and to the public who supported us.

We Rotarians say “Thank you.” With the support of all of you, this event will provide funds for community and Rotary youth programs.

Note to readers: Keith Zoeller was the corn boil chairman.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
