SANDWICH – Erik S. Paver, 41, of Sandwich, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014, after a courageous battle with leukemia, at Horizon Hospice in Chicago, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Nov. 17, 1972, in Evanston, the son of Arthur and Eileen (Privatsky) Paver. He married Mary Long on June 17, 2000, on the Millbrook bridge. Erik was a proud member of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and was a carpenter by trade. Erik was an avid White Sox, Chicago Bears, and UFC fan, but his greatest love of all was his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Sandwich; his two small children, Rhaena and Kenneth of Sandwich; his mother and stepfather, Eileen and Richard Wilson of Somonauk; three sisters, Laura Paver and Stephanie Wilson, both of Somonauk, and Jennifer Wilson of Davison, Michigan; mother-in-law, Judith Long of Sterling; three sisters-in-law, Diana (Thom) Hellmann of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Catherine (Dave) Frymire of Oak Brook, and Elizabeth (Chris) Hafner of Prairie Village, Kansas; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Donna) Long Jr. of Aurora and Will Long of Mesa, Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, and his father-in-law, Richard Long Sr.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and the memorial service at 7 p.m Friday at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich.
