DIXON – Donations of goods and money are being sought for a benefit Aug. 2 for a Dixon man with brain cancer.

Pat Allen, 49, worked at Etnyre Co. in Oregon for 21 years. He was diagnosed in April, and is being treated in Peoria, Peru and Princeton. He is using a walker and no longer can work. He and his wife, Wendy, have five children and two grandchildren.

The benefit, which begins at 2 p.m. at the Dixon Elks Lodge, 1279 Franklin Grove Road, will have barbecue dinners for $5 and live music from Down 24, from Clinton, Iowa, at 4 p.m., and Catfish Dog, from Dixon, at 6:30 p.m.

A silent auction will offer baskets and floral pieces, while Chicago Bears and Notre Dame tickets will be sold in a live auction. T-shirts will be sold for $15, and there will be a 50/50 drawing and a bake sale.

Monetary donations may be made to the Pat Allen Benefit Fund at Sauk Valley Bank, 300 Walton Drive in Dixon.
