STERLING – Benjamin Lee Koster, 34, of Sterling, formerly of Polo, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at his home.

He was born Feb. 1, 1980, to David and Rae Ann (Minson) Koster. Ben graduated from Polo Community High School and attended Sauk Valley Community College.

He is survived by his mother, Rae Ann (Larry) Baker of Dixon; his father, David Koster of Sterling; a sister, Mary (Kristopher) Haak of Byron; a niece, Emalynn Haak; his paternal grandfather, Elmer Koster of Sterling; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Alvera Koster; and his maternal grandmother, Joann Wilkens.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at Polo Family Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeremy Heller officiating. Interment will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Polo.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
