Susan G. Reinema

WESTMINSTER, Colo. – Susan Gayle Reinema passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Clear Creek Care Center in Westminster, Colorado.

Susan was born March 1, 1948, in Rock Falls, to Mary (McFalls) Genkinger and Marion Genkinger. She attended Rock Falls schools, and after graduating from high school in 1966 she spent time in Chicago, where she studied interior design. In 1969, she married Loren Reinema, and they moved to Denton, Texas, where Loren was attending college.

After college, Loren joined the Air Force. They eventually moved to Peru, Indiana, where sons, Eric and Josh, were born. The Air Force then took them to Edmond, Oklahoma, which became home for many years. Sue and Loren divorced, but maintained a close relationship until Loren’s death in 2008. She moved to Colorado in 2009, to be close to her sons.

She is survived by her sons, Eric Reinema of Centennial, Colorado, and Josh Reinema of Lafayette, Colorado; one grandson, Charles Reinema; her mother, Mary Wolfley; sister, Judy Gibson; a niece; a nephew; and several cousins.

She also was preceded in death by her father, Marion Genkinger; and her stepfather, LaVerne Wolfley.

No services are scheduled at this time. Howe Mortuary Inc. in Longmont, Colorado, is handling arrangements.
