CAVE CREEK, Ariz. – Our loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, passed away in her sleep, at 84, Wednesday, July 16, 2014, ending her long struggles with Amyloidosis disease.

Lois was a strong woman of faith and belief in God. Her kindness and thoughtfulness to her family and friends always will be remembered.

Lois is survived by her husband Richard “Dick” of nearly 63 years; and their son Jay.

Dick and Lois were high school sweethearts from Marengo. In 1951, they moved to Phoenix. In 1952, they moved to Dixon, where they lived until 1998, returning back to Phoenix to be with their son. Lois dearly enjoyed taking care of her family, laughing with her friends, her faith, reading books, and cheering on the Arizona Diamondbacks.

We have lost a wonderful wife, mother, and friend, who will be forever remembered for her gentle ways and selfless kindness to all she met.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church, 6300 East Bell Road. Burial will be at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, Arizona. Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary in Phoenix is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at La Casa de Cristo.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
