Event set to help PADS shelter

STERLING – Hiking for the Homeless, a 4-mile walk and fun fair to benefit Twin City PADS Homeless Shelter in Sterling, will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 26 at the Sterling High School track, 1608 Fourth Ave.

Proceeds will go to help the shelter. The cost is $15 per person or $40 for a family. Participants can bring a nonperishable food item for the Sauk Valley Area Food Bank. For each item, participants will receive a bottle of water.

A silent auction, bake sale, and food will be available. A 50/50 drawing will take place, with tickets for $1 each or $5 for an armlength. There will be face painting, a bounce house, and activities for children provided the Boy Scouts.
