SPRINGFIELD (AP) – A 21-year-old Springfield man critically injured in a July 3 all-terrain vehicle crash has died.

The State Journal-Register reported that Cody Ballard was pronounced dead at 5:43 a.m. Wednesday.

The crash occurred about 11:30 p.m. Authorities were notified about 6:30 a.m. the next day when the ATV’s passenger knocked on the door of a nearby residence.

The passenger was 19-year-old Eileen Brown of Springfield. She was treated and released at Memorial Medical Center.
