Brooke Hepker and her mother, Angie Hecker, operate JavaJoint Xpress at 606 12th Ave. in Rock Falls. You can try their wide variety of coffee drinks, pastries and other goodies from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. There's also a drive-thru.

ROCK FALLS – Brooke Hepker and her mother, Angie Hepker, love being behind the counter whipping up cups of coffee.

“We love making coffee, and we love coming here every day,” Brooke said. “It makes us so happy, and we want to be happy each time we come to work.”

Brooke, 25, and Angie, 47, are co-owners of JavaJoint Xpress, a new coffee shop at 606 12th Ave.

The mother-daughter duo, both of Rock Falls, opened the cozy coffee shop in June.

It’s the only coffee shop in Rock Falls.

“There is nowhere on this side of town where you can get a real good cup of coffee,” Angie said. “You have gas stations, and you have McDonald’s, but where else can you go?”

JavaJoint has a variety of coffee options, including cafe mocha, creamy espresso and cappuccino.

The most popular, though, is the caramel macchiato – a blend of cafe espresso and frothed milk, topped with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle.

They use Douwe Egberts, an international coffee from the Netherlands.

They also offer a variety of baked goods and pastries, including an assortment of muffins, large chocolate chip cookies, cherry turnovers and cinnamon roll cake.

People can enjoy their coffee in the shop, or if they are in a hurry, they can hit the drive-thru.

Not only do Brooke and Angie own the shop, they also make coffee and take orders.
