DIXON – A 90-year-old Mount Morris man still was in critical condition at a Rockford hospital Tuesday afternoon after he and another driver, from Dixon, were injured in a crash Sunday morning.

Darrell Strite was southbound on state Route 2 around 9:30 a.m. As he was turning onto Sink Hollow Road, his car was hit on the passenger side by a northbound vehicle driven by Calista Gilszmer, 28, Lee County Sheriff John Varga said.

Both were taken to KSB Hospital. Gilszmer was treated and released, while Strite was flown to OSF St. Anthony Hospital.

The accident remains under investigation.
