STERLING – A car wash to raise money to help a Sterling man with stage 4 cancer will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Sterling Motors, 1807 Locust St.

Steve Sharp, 65, worked for North End until recently, and just retired in May from Raynor Garage Doors in Dixon, where he worked for 25 years.

His granddaughter, Alexis Rascon, said Sharp was diagnosed 2 years ago with kidney cancer and underwent surgery. The cancer has since spread, and Sharp now has lung and liver cancer.

Donation jars also are available at Shell stations at 1801 Locust St. and 2412 E. Lincolnway in Sterling, and at Casey’s General Store, 900 Dixon Ave. in Rock Falls.

Call Rascon, 815-441-3140, or Rosa Barb, 815-590-7500 for more information.
