GRAND DETOUR – Artists from across the Midwest will gather for the 66th annual Grand Detour Arts Festival Sept. 14 at the John Deere Historic Site, 8334 S. Clinton St.

The festival will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artists’ work will include oil, pastel, acrylic, watercolor paints, sculpture, photography, jewelry, and pottery. All will display pieces for exhibit and purchase.

Applications will be accepted until late August. The cost is $75. Adult pieces will be judged throughout the day and are eligible for cash prizes. There also will be a regional art exhibit from students in kindergarten to 12th grade. Student art applications are due Sept. 5. Their works will be judged before the event.

Food vendors will be on site, and musicians will perform.

The festival is presented by the festival committee in partnership with The Next Picture Show. KSB Hospital is the main sponsor, and Sauk Valley Bank and Trust Co. is the main student art exhibit sponsor. All are in Dixon.
