IDOT road projects getting underway in Ogle, Carroll counties

DIXON – Illinois Department of Transportation road repair projects are scheduled this month in Ogle an Carroll counties.

In Ogle County: Resurfacing and pavement repairs will start Monday on a 3.5-mile section of state Route 38, from the west edge of Rochelle to Thorp Road. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, and flaggers will direct traffic.

Completion is expected by the end of September.

In Carroll County: Work is set to start July 22 on roadway approaches to two bridges on U.S. Highway 52/state Route 64 east of Mount Carroll. The bridges are being replaced a half at a time, and a culvert is being replaced 2 miles east of state Route 78. Traffic on 52/64 will be detoured on state Routes 78 and 40, and Benson Road.

The closure is expected to last 2 weeks, with traffic reduced to one lane with temporary signals at each site.
